Supreme Zoom Radiance lenses are large format cinema zooms that perfectly match the look of Supreme Prime Radiance lenses. They match also quite well with vintage prime lenses, especially the legendary Canon K35. 

Supreme Zoom Radiance lenses feature the same pleasing and versatile image character as Supreme Prime Radiance thanks to their gentle sharpness combined with smooth fall-off, a very shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh. They render colors with a warmer tone than standard coated prime and zoom lenses.

Supreme Zoom Radiance lenses enable cinematographers to create predictable artistic optical flares in a controlled and reproducibleway. When zooming, a unique flare shape change will become visible. This can e.g., be used to enhance in-camera effects like vertigo shots / dolly zooms.

Controlled Flares, T* blue coating for exquisite imagery

T* blue coating is the technology that allows to create blue flares when aiming a point light towards the lens and render just in a normal way when lighting normally. This lens coating generates flares when strong lighting is applied by reflecting only a very small part of the light spectrum (blue).

The very small part of the blue light spectrum reflected by T* blue coating is then missing when light is reaching the camera sensor. Less blue in the color spectrum reaching the sensor, overall results in images that have a slightlywarmer color tone.

Consistent ergonomics for seamless workflow on set

Engineered with professional workflows in mind, the Supreme Zoom Radiance feature consistent and standardized positions for iris, focus, and zoom rings, along with a front diameter of 114 mm, ensuring easy interchangeability between Supreme Prime and Zoom lenses. This uniformity streamlines the on-set experience, reducing time spent on adjustments and increasing overall efficiency during production. Despite their advanced optical capabilities, the lenses remain compact, with a maximum weight of 3,18 kg (7.01 lbs), making them adaptable to various shooting setups.

The Supreme Radiance Zooms are equipped with the ZEISS eXtended Data technology, providing frame-by-frame data on lens vignetting and distortion in addition to the standard metadata provided using the Cooke /i technology protocol. This simplifies and speeds up workflows, particularly for VFX and Virtual Production.

Furthermore, the lenses are integrated into the ZEISS CinCraft ecosystem and available through the “ZEISS Supreme Lenses” Virtual Lens Package (VLP) that comes free of charge with the CinCraft Scenario camera tracking system and allows for skipping the laborious lens calibration process, when shooting with the Radiance Zooms.
