This standard zoom lens from Panasonic has been designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and offers a 20-50mm equivalent focal length range in 35mm terms.

The super-bright f/1.7 constant maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions throughout the zoom range and also offers improved depth of field control. The optical design includes 3 x aspherical elements, 4 x extra-low dispersion elements, and 1 x ultra high-refractive index element all combine to suppress colour fringing, chromatic aberrations, and spherical aberrations for high clarity, sharpness, and colour accuracy.

In the AF department, this zoom lens delivers in spades. The fast 240 fps autofocus drive, along with an internal focusing system, delivers smooth, accurate, and quiet focusing performance to benefit both stills and video applications. Additionally, a focus clutch mechanism delivers especially quick AF/MF switching.

For video creators, it should be noted the lens features a physical aperture ring with a step-less, de-clicked design for smooth, silent aperture switching when shooting video. Furthermore the lens body also features a splash, dust, and freeze-proof design, which benefits working out in the open elements.

And last, but not least, the 9 rounded blade iris design makes it possible to get a smooth and pleasing bokeh in the out-of-focus background regions in both stills and video.
