At NAB 2016, esteemed pro accessories manufacturer Vocas showed off their latest accessories for the Sony FS5, the new Spider System for shoulder support, and their new revolutionary sliding system, which allows users to use a camera with multiple base-plates. The Vocas Spider System is a very neat and well built modular system which can be setup in a variety of ways to help you get the most out of your handheld camera, while taking the load of your shoulder literally. Vocas also have some exciting accessories for the Sony FS5, which include a top handgrip kit, a cheesplate designed for you to mount additional accessories, a Handgrip rosette adapter, which allows users to relocate Sony handgrip for a shoulder mount configuration. Vocas also do a very nice PL to E mount adapter for those users who want to use cinema PL-mount lenses on their FS5. We saw some of these accessories at IBC in Amsterday last Fall. Vocas also demoed their new Sliding System, which incorporates a revolutionary new design enabling cinematographers to mount cameras to different setups, while still maintaining perfect balance. At the core of the Vocas Sliding system is the Universal camera adapter plate - such as USBP-15 Mark II or the BP-19 Mark II. This system consists of a small plate can be attached underneath any camera and gives the camera a dovetail connection. This allows the camera to slide on or off the various Vocas dovetail system base plates. The video below illustrates the benefits of the new system.
