The PIX-E monitors feature compact, die-cast metal housings and an LCD display protected by Gorilla® Glass 2, making them the ideal choice for cinematographers and videographers looking for monitors that can stand up to the rigours of the most extreme and demanding production environments. These new on-camera monitors incorporate a ‘best-of-both-worlds’ user interface that combines easy-to-access real tactile buttons and intuitive touch screen.

The PIX-E series line-up will comprise of three models:

PIX-E5H

The entry-level PIX-E series monitor/record features a 5-inch 1920 x 1080p IPS touch-screen with 441ppi, HDMI Input/Output and 4K ProRes HQ recording

PIX-E5

The PIX-E5 shares the same 5 inch 1080p 441ppi IPS touch-screen, but also adds 3G-SDI input/output and ups the recording flavour to 4K ProRes 4444 XQ.

PIX-E7

The biggest screen of the lineup – 7-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touch-screen with 3G-SDI input/output and Apple ProRes 4444 XQ recording options.

A great monitor needs to be accurate; it must be able to show the finest detail, be viewable in bright sunlight, and have a range of easy-to-access tools that aid with perfecting the focus, exposure, framing and color balance. These new Video Devices monitors do all of those things and with their ability to record the highest quality Apple ProRes edit-ready video, the PIX-Es are an affordable, must-have tool for any video production professional.

The new PIX-E5H should be a really good match for HDMI camears like the Canon C100 Mark II, Panasonic GH4 and Sony A7s, while the PIX-E5 will benefit mostly 3G-SDI equipped cameras like the Sony FS7 or the Canon C300 for example. We're really excited about the larger PIX-E7 as well with its larger screen and robust connectivity it will certainly find a home among many cinematographers and production companies looking to expand their fleet of monitor/recorder tools.

For those of you attending NAB in Las Vegas it will be a great opportunity to check the PIX-E series recorder/monitors out at Booth C6040.
