Great news if you are after a GoPro drone. Looks like the biggest action camera maker is bringing back their GoPro Karma Drone after a major recall. The Karma drone is now back at "select US re-sellers" and will make an appearance in Europe and the UK in the Spring. GoPro has been dealing with quite a lot of negative publicity over the last year, and the fact they had to pull the Karma from the market due to sudden power failure's causing the drone to drop from the sky seemed like it may spell the end of the the King of Action cameras. The good news, is that GoPro is back on track and re-launching the Karma drone after fixing the issues that caused the recall, which were zeroed down to a fault with the battery latch mechanism causing the battery pins to lose connections, therefore killing the drone in mid-flight, which is exactly what you don't want to happen while flying one.
“Karma is the ultimate aerial, handheld and wearable stabilization solution for the GoPro community,” says GoPro Founder and CEO, Nick Woodman. “As the consumer drone market continues to grow, Karma delivers the most versatile solution at a very accessible price.”
This is certainly good news for quadcopter enthusiasts, both more experienced and those new to flying drones. The built-in integration with the company's GoPro Hero 5 Black flagship camera and the removable Karma Grip stabiliser make the Karma an enticing proposition, now that the technical issues have been resolved.
