Sony A7r II

Sony just released the latest firmware version 3.30 for their popular full-frame mirrorless beast the Sony A7RII. The latest firmware offers improvements such as “optimizing temperature control...” which will hopefully prevent overheating when shooting 4K video for prolonged periods of time as some users have experienced in the past.

The flagship Sony A7R II and A7S II cameras are significant achievements for Sony in terms of technical prowess, but upon release some cameras of this range had some issues with overheating when recording in 4K internally for extended periods of time, but now Sony has issues a firmware update to remedy this phenomenon.

The ZEISS Loxia 21mm f2.8 is the youngest addition to the Loxia family of compact full-frame lenses for Sony E mount cameras such as the Sony A7s, A7s II and A7R II. Videographers can benefit from the fluid manual aperture option and the solid metal construction. And of course, outstanding world-class image quality from none other than legendary optics-maker Zeiss.

Sony were, as always, exceptionally busy during PhotoPlus 2015, organising numerous presentations and panel discussions around their latest 4K technology implemented into their full-frame Alpha 7 mirrorless line-up and more precisely, the incredible opportunities and flexibility that the A7R II and Sony A7S II offer both in stills and especially video mode.
