At NAB 2016, SmallHD announced their brand new range of 17, 24, and 32-inch HDR production monitors, and now the monitor manufacturer announce 2 new Full HD Studio Production monitors with 17 and 24-inches screen sizes designed to provide the same level of durability, high-end software capability, and colour accuracy as their HDR counterparts.
BVE 2016 isn't all about cameras, and even though they are everywhere simply because manufacturers have to use them to display their accessories whether it be wireless solutions, lenses or monitors. We stopped by the TV Logic and Holdan booths where we saw a few new models that might be of interest to some of you.
The SmallHD 501 and 502 monitors have been really popular with handheld gimbal stabiliser operators and FS5 and FS7 owners. The units are really well built, feature incredible resolution and colour reproduction as well as a vast array of image monitoring functions such as Peaking, False Colour, Zebras and are the only monitors in this price range to support 3D LUTs for monitoring.
SmallHD announced the iPhone sized 5-inch 502 SDI monitor back at NAB earlier this year, which then they followed up with a more affordable HDMI only version called the 501. Today the US company introduces a daylight viewable, 7-inch, Full HD on-board monitor they will be demoing at their booth at IBC 2015 starting tomorrow.
