Zeiss have announced a brad new Lightweight Zoom - LWZ.3 with a very decent range - 21-100mm T2.9-3.9 with Super 35 sensor coverage and Interchangeable lens mount system for maximum flexibility. Documentary and wildlife shooters in particular should take a look at this lens as the lens not only features a good range of focal lengths, but is also quite affordable - at just over £7000 + VAT.
Well-known budget lens manufacturer Samyang just announced their latest 135mm T2.2 Cine Prime, which is the latest addition to their XEEN cine prime lens range. For those who have already upgraded to shooting in 4K or even higher resolutions, using proper cine lenses is key as pulling focus with stills lenses in high resolutions can be quite challenging.
Zeiss just announced their own Lens Gear Rings for the Zeiss Milvus, Loxia and Otus lenses, making them automatically compatible with follow focus systems for video work. The new Zeiss Lens Gear Rings is made out of premium aluminium with a hardened surface coating that easily slips onto the lens' focus ring.
