Just a few minutes ago, Convergent Design announced the release of High Speed Apple ProRes recording directly in Apple ProRes in 4K/UHD up to 60p and in HD up to an amazing 240p to their flagship Odysse7Q+ 4K recorder/monitor. At the moment, no other device can record HD Apple ProRes at 240 frames per second – no camera, no standalone recorder, no computer capture card.

Convergent Design, who recently announced they are expanding third party SSD support for use in their Odyssey7/Q/7Q+ family 4K recorder/monitors, also recently released a new firmware update (2015.7), which added some new functionality and enabled third party support for certain models Samsung SSD drives.

Just now, Convergent Design announced a major revamp of their SSD support and lowered the prices on their media. This revamp will lower costs dramatically for those using the Odyssey7Q+, Odyssey7Q and the Odyssey7 monitor/recorders.

Convergent Design constantly works to add more features and functionality to the Odyssey family of professional monitor/recorders. This release includes new features & functionality and adds more power, performance and versatility to the Odyssey7Q+, Odyssey7Q and Odyssey7.

Convergent Design recently announced the most complete support of any monitor/recorder for the new revolutionary 4K Canon C300 Mark II camera. The Odyssey7Q+ and the Odyssey7Q will, with the new Odyssey RAW Bundle (sold through Convergent Design), allow recording in 4K & UHD in RAW up to 30p as well as 4K & UHD processed and converted to Apple ProRes up to 30p. Without the Odyssey RAW Bundle, the Odyssey monitor/recorders can record 2K/HD 12-bit or 10-bit 4:4:4 RGB video in Uncompressed DPX up to 60p.
