ARRI have released a new firmware update - Software Update Packet (SUP) 11.1 for their industry standard cinema cameras - the ARRI ALEXA XT and ALEXA Classic cameras with the XR Module upgrade.

We love the Alexa MINI over here at Visual Impact and we recently found this beautiful mini doc test shot recently on the Alexa MINI by Polish collective Film Cyfrowy.

ARRI had a significant presence at IBC 2015 and as usual their booth was swamped by show attendees eager to get their hands on the ALEXA Mini, the powerhouse Alexa 65, and the next generation ALEXA SXT cameras they had at display at the ARRI booth.

ARRI had their full camera line-up on display at IBC 2015 in Amsterdam including the 65mm digital cinema top dog ALEXA 65, the latest ALEXA Mini and upcoming ALEX A SXT cameras as well as the documentary oriented ARRI AMIRA. In the upcoming SUP 3.0 for the AMIRA, the camera will receive some really exciting new features including 4K UHD recording, MPEG2 HD 422 at 50Mb/s recording for full integration with broadcast workflows, in addition to Wi-Fi control from smart phones and tables.

The ARRI AMIRA has a lot of cinematographers excited due to the superb image quality, legendary design toughness and of course, single operator ergonomics. Predominantly geared towards single user operation, ARRI had the documentary filmmaker, corporate shooters and ENG camera professional in mind when they designed the AMIRA.
