Sony just announced a brand new camera - the NX5R is the highly anticipated successor to the very successful Sony NX5 and NX3 camcorders. The new NX5R features some significant improvements and latest technology from Sony including a multi-interface shoe for wireless/cableless audio, FTP/WiFi and NFC connectivity, 40x Clear Image Zoom, and much more. The new Sony NX5R model features three 1/2.8-type Full HD Exmor CMOS sensors delivering stunning Full HD images at up to 50 frames per second in 1080p. The maximum frame rate for the NTSC model is 60p, however in Europe, we will be selling the PAL model, which has a maximum of 50p. 40x Clear Image Zoom will deliver crisp images without perceived loss of quality, expanding further the 20x optical zoom on the fixed G lens. Sony NX5R The MI Shoe *multi-interface shot is another nice upgrade to the NXCAM line, as now users can have hassle and cable free audio with compatible products like the UWP-D11 audio system. Videographers shooting events and concerts will love the built in WiFi and FTP connectivity allowing them to LiveStream directly from the camera. Dual SD card slots enable continuous and back up recording as well for added peace of mind. For those who frequently shoot in dim-lit environments, the NX5R has a small built-in LED light to help out with bringing up light levels a bit. Users also have a choice of the advanced XAVC-S 50Mbps codec in Full HD or established AVCHD/DV recording formats to meet just about any workflow requirements. Just like other NXCAM camcorders before it, the new NX5R uses the popular L-series NP-F style batteries, which are affordable and readily available.
