After a few teaser posts on social media, Sony have finally lunched the new FX6 camera. We have just received the full information on this new and exciting camcorder so this is a brief introduction, a full review will follow later. Sony FX6 Full Frame Camera Introduction The FX6 is the smallest of the new Cinema Line family of cameras from Sony which includes the Venice and FX9. It has a compact and light weight modular body (890g) which makes it suitable for a wide range of shooting styles. It records 4K full frame quality at up to 120p and its 10.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor and new Bionz XR processor delivers excellent low light capabilities with a wide dynamic range. To enable DoP’s to select a different look (i.e. the classic film look) to the image produced by this camera S-LOG3 and S-CINETONE picture profiles are included. This will make the image similar to the ones on the VIENCE and FX9 but not exactly the same. Auto focus is something Canon cameras has always been ahead of the Sony equivalent but with the FX6 having Real-time Eye Autofocus, Real-time touch tracking and customisable autofocus tracking sensitivity it is now more than a match for the Canon. Other great features include a Variable ND filter, detachable smart handle, high-resolution LCD screen and long battery life. Connectivity is also improved by providing a large range of options which includes 16bit RAW output, 12G SDI, HDMI, USB-C, WiFi, LANC, 2x XLR, Mi-Shoe, E mount. FX6 Side
