And for those who are more drawn to using a traditional camcorder design style camera, the PXW-FS5 offers some serious flexibility and pro performance in a tiny body, ergonomically designed after the bigger Sony FS7. We had a chance to play with the FS5 at IBC 2015, and loved it.
Check out our FS7 vs FS5 differences video with Sony ICE and DP Alister Chapman.
In the presentation below you can see DP Rob Scribner talk about his experience with the Sony FS5 and what the camera can do for your productions.

We see the Sony FS5 as the perfect budget 4K camera for video producers, live event shooters, documentary shooters and everyone who is after a small, but very capable camera. The FS5 will nicely match A7s II and FS7 footage as it features S-Log3 gamma, and also the same sensor as the FS7. In addition, in Full HD the camera records in a 10bit 422 codec, which means it is ready for broadcast. The addition of 240fps super slow motion in Full HD is very impressive and a feature usually found on much higher priced cameras.
We have received a large quantity of pre-orders for the PXW-FS5, which is a product in great demand, and are proud to announce that we have made an even larger order with Sony, therefore we are expecting to have stock towards the end of November.
