RED Manifold

RED Digital Cinema and Facebook recently released some details on their new revolutionary 360 degree VR camera collaboration called Manifold. The new 360 degree camera is to feature 16 x 8K RED Helium sensors and custom wide-angle optics from Schneider enabling VR creators to capture a full 360 environment and record raw from each sensor at 8K/60p simultaneously. There are not details on price or availability yet, but we know the camera will have ND filters, quick-release handles and multiple third party storage device choices with 1 hour+ record time.

Angelbird 256GB CFast 2.0 Cards for ARRI

Angelbird have announced a new ARRI Edition 256GB CFast 2.0 card for AMIRA and ALEXA Mini cameras. The new Angelbird ARRI Edition CFast 2.0 card has been designed and certified for use with these specific models and can be utilized for both  ProRes and ARRIRAW recording. Designed from the ground up by Angelbird in close collaboration with ARRI for maximum reliability, the new Cfast card uses a combination of enhanced thermally conductive material to provide superior heat dissipation from the chips, thus securing the electronic components against mechanical damage.

Zeiss ZX1 Camera

At Photokina 2018, Zeiss announced a full-frame camera and a new 40mm f2 Batis lens for Sony E mount. The new Zeiss ZX1 camera uses a 37 megapixel full-frame sensor and a fixed 35mm f2.0 lens that has been perfectly matched to the new sensor, which has been developed in house. The ZX1 has been designed around the concept of quick high quality image capture, in-camera editing, and immediate sharing onto social media thanks to its intuitive user interface, which resembles that of a smartphone. The ZX1 can shoot 4K video up to 30 frames per second and has a built-in 512GB of internal memory. The camera has no price at the moment and is likely to be released in 2019. The new close-focus Zeiss Batis 40mm lens is expected to ship in November.   To see these new products in action, give us a call to arrange a demo on 0208 977 1222.
