    Sony has made the much anticipated firmware update 8.0 now available to download. However, it should be noted that F5 and F55 owners with specific serial numbers cannot download this firmware and need to contact Sony Prime Support.

    The Video Assist monitor/recorders from Blackmagic Design go from strength to strength with the latest firmware update version 2.2, which adds an MXF wrapper for DNxHD and the 4K DNxHR codecs on the Video Assist 4K, as well as false colour for assisting camera operators with exposure. The firmware also adds improvements to the focus assist peaking with the addition of more colours - Red, Green, Blue and White.

  4. SIGMA announce new CINE Prime and Zoom lenses at IBC 2016

    This year, IBC 2016 was not short on new lens announcements, that's for sure. However, one of the most anticipated and hottest announcements from the show came from Japanese lens maker SIGMA, who up until now have been manufacturing primarily photographic lenses. At IBC 2016 in Amsterdam, Sigma announced they will release a new lineup of cine lenses including primes and zoom lenses in early 2017.
