Panasonic S1H update 2.0

Panasonic has some great news for filmmakers using their S1H full-frame hybrid camera. Firmware update 2.0 will be released on May 25th, and it will enable 5.9K and 4K ProRes Raw output via HDMI from the Panasonic S1H to the Atomos Ninja V. Available ProRes RAW formats form the S1H include 5.9K up to 30p in Full-Frame mode, and 4K/60p in Super35 mode. Firmware update 2.0 will be free to download and will also include 3.5K Anamorphic 4:3 capture in ProRes RAW to the Ninja V from the S1H camera.

Aputure LS 300X

Aputure finally launched their highly anticipated LS 300X bi-Color flagship LED light. The top-of-the range Aputure LED inherits the solid body design of the 300D Mark II, but also makes some improvements to the control box by adding a new colour temperature wheel. The 300X features smooth dimming from 0 to 100% and temperature adjustments from 2700K to 6500K using a very advanced chip on board LED technology. With high TLCI numbers of 96+ and serious power output, the 300x rivals many traditional HMI fixtures at a fraction of the cost.

Blackmagic Design updates

Blackmagic Design has made their Pocket Cinema Camera 6K even more affordable by announcing a price reduction of $500 across the board. The Pocket 6K camera comes with a native EF mount and a Super 35 sensor, and offers high dynamic range with the ability to record Blackmagic RAW in various resolutions up to 6K. Blackmagic Design also recently released Resolve 16.2.1 update, which  improves the paint color picker function, DeltaKeyer reliability with masking and much more.
