Cooke Optics New Cine Prime Lenses

The live exhibition part of NAB 2020 is sadly, not happening this year, but there are still new product announcements. Legendary British lens maker Cooke Optics has just announced two new cine primes – the 300mm S7/i full frame, and the 180mm focal length addition to their Anamorphic Full Frame Plus range. In addition to the two new primes, Cooke will also be expanding their S7/i full frame range with three new 1:1 Macro lenses – in the 60mm, 90mm and 150mm focal lengths.

ATEM Mini Pro

Blackmagic Design just had a Live Production and Camera Update, where the company introduced the new ATEM Mini Pro video switcher. New improvements include the addition of a hardware streaming engine, which allows users to stream directly to YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch via an Ethernet connection. This function greatly improves the reliability and quality of the livestream. In addition, the ATEM Mini Pro is capable of recording a backup file in H.264 to a hard disk via USB. The ATEM Mini Pro is available to pre-order now for £545 and is expected to start shipping in the next few weeks.

Blackmagic Camera Update 6.9

During their latest livestream, Blackmagic Design also announced that Camera Update 6.9 firmware is now available as a free download. This update allows users to use both the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and the 6K as studio cameras when paired with the ATEM Mini or ATEM Mini Pro switchers. Studio functionality includes remote record trigger for Blackmagic RAW, on air tally indication, a DaVinci Resolve primary colour corrector and more.
