This week we are featuring Teradek's new Bolt 4K MAX zero-delay 4K HDR wireless transmission system, free firmware update for the Shogun 7 monitor recorder from Atomos plus the new Canon DP-V3120 display featuring 2000 nits edge-to-edge brightness.
Teradek recently unveiled the Bolt 4K MAX – the company’s most advanced, longest range, zero-delay 4K HDR wireless transmission system. The new system can multicast 10bit HDR 422 video to a maximum of 6 receivers at up to 5000 feet line of sight over the license-free 5Ghz band, and even supports 120fps slow motion in Full HD. The all-new and exclusive Broadcast Mode enables transmission to unlimited receivers while the new Fixed Frequency Mode can lock transmission onto a specific 5GHz channel for enhanced performance even in the toughest RF environments.
For a limited time, all Bolt 500, 1000, 3000, and Paralinx Tomahawk owners are eligible for the Bolt 4K Upgrade Program, which offers up to a 40% trade-in credit depending on model and condition.
Atomos recently announced a free firmware update for the Shogun 7 monitor recorder which is getting a massive 3000 nits HDR upgrade. This doubles the brightness of the monitor making it even more suitable for field production.
The company also announced a permanent price drop for their more compact Shinobi monitor, which applies to both the SDI and HDMI versions. And finally, Atomos assured future Sony FX9 owners that they will be supporting 16 bit raw from the FX9, which will be recorded on the upcoming Atomos Neon Master Control Unit. The details of how exactly this will happen or the cost involved remain to be released at some point in the near future.
Canon also added a new 31-inch 4K HDR reference display to their top-end line-up of 4K monitors. The new Canon DP-V3120 display features 2000 nits edge-to-edge brightness, improved local dimming algorithm and also comes packed with a huge range of professional monitoring tools such as vector-scope, false colour, waveform and many more specifically tailored for HDR. The new monitor also meets the requirements of Dolby Vision certified post-production facilities and is perfect for both HDR and SDR workflows thanks to its extensive 12G-SDI connectivity..
