Welcome to the latest issue of our weekly roundup of news from the TV and film industry.
This week we are featuring the ARRI DEH-1 that is the latest addition to the company’s Camera Stabilizer System range, two brand new Speed Boosters for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K from Metabones, the Cube 1200 a new high-voltage battery for digital cinema cameras like the ARRI Alexa LF, ALEXA Mini LF & Sony VENICE from Bebob, plus the latest updates from Blackmagic Design including the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K.
ARRI DEH-1 Digital Encoder Head
The ARRI DEH-1 is the latest addition to the company’s Camera Stabilizer System range and their first digital encoder head to communicate through the LBUS protocol. Based on a Cartoni tripod fluid head, the DEH1 has been specifically designed to operate and fully integrate with the ARRI Stabilized Remote Head or in other words the SRH-3. The single LBUS connection allows for intuitive control from a single device while the intuitive adjustable drag system ensures extremely precise pan and tilt movements making the DEH-1 a smart alternative to sophisticated hand wheels or joystick controls.
Available in left and right-hand configurations the DEH-1 can also be seamlessly integrated into broadcast productions with a complete set of Master Grips.
Metabones Speed Boosters for BMPCC 4K
Metabones has announced two brand new Speed Boosters for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. Available in EF mount, Nikon and PL mount, the new Metabones Speedbooster Ultra 0.71x for the Pocket Camera 4K has been designed work best with a wide range of APS-C, vintage Super 35mm and also full-frame lenses, while the Speed booster XL 0.64x is tailored more towards optimising full-frame lenses giving you a slightly wider field of view compared to the ULTRA version. Both speed boosters are now available to order and we expect first shipments to commence in the next two weeks.
Bebob CUBE 1200
German battery maker Bebob has a new high-voltage battery for digital cinema cameras like the ARRI Alexa LF, ALEXA Mini LF and Sony VENICE. The Bebob CUBE 1200 offers numerous outputs from 5V to 24V and 48Volts via XLR connections as well as enough power to keep an ARRI Skypanel S60 going for 2 and a half hours. The Bebob Cube 1200 features a rugged enclosure that manages to keep a relatively compact and light profile for a battery of its class.

Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K
And finally some breaking news: Blackmagic Design announced the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K with EF mount and Super 35mm sensor.
