RODE Lavalier GO
RODE Microphones just announced the RODE Lavalier GO, a high quality, broadcast-grade omnidirectional microphone with a wide frequency response designed for video creatives who need to move fast and also get better audio from their subjects.
Designed to as the perfect companion to the RODE Wireless GO, the new Lavalier GO is also compatible with any recording device equipped with a 3.5mm mic input. The Lavalier GO is supplied with a rugged Kevlar-reinforced cable and features a durable mounting clip coupled with a foam pop filter for reducing wind noise and plosives.
Sony RX100 VII
Sony expanded their premium compact camera range with the new RX100 VII, which borrows some really impressive autofocus features from the top of the range Sony a9. The RX100 VII retains the same pocket-friendly form-factor as the previous generation; however it gets a massive bump in autofocus performance with 357 points of Phase-Detection Autofocus in addition to the latest Real-time tracking for moving subjects in both stills and video, including Real-Time Eye AF for animals. The addition of a microphone input in combination with the 180-degree flip up screen turns the RX100 VII into a very good camera for vlogging.
ARRI Stellar Update
ARRI also released a new firmware update for their Stellar App. The ARRI Stellar App offers intelligent lighting control of ARRI Skypanels and L-series fixtures from iOS and Android smartphones and tables. Firmware Update 1.5 adds many new features including iCloud backup support and the ability to Import and Export projects, scenes and favourites from supported iOS and Android devices. LiveSync is another major new feature, which gives multiple users the ability to use and work on the same project within Stellar.
