Sony VENICE Firmware 4.0, ARRI Alexa Mini LF Hands-On Event, Visual Bytes
Welcome to the latest issue of our weekly roundup of news from the TV and film industry.
This week we are featuring the latest firmware V4.0 for the Sony VENICE, a very special ARRI Alexa Mini LF hands-on event at our London headquarters plus a new series of short instructional videos called Visual Bytes hosted by experienced DoP Jeremy Humphries.
Sony VENICE V4.0
We start with some great news for Sony VENICE owners. Just days ago, Sony officially released the new Firmware version 4.0, which brings high frame rates such as 6K up to 60fps and 4K up to 120fps to the VENICE in addition to in-camera Rec.2020/HLG support for HDR productions and metadata lens support for Cooke i3 and Zeiss Extended Data Technology. It is important to note that the Sony VENICE does require a paid High Frame Rate license to be installed at a Sony Service in order for users to gain access to the new high frame rate options. As a Sony VENICE dealer we recommend VENICE owners and those considering a purchase to get in touch with us for pricing and instructions on how the upgrade will be performed.
ARRI Alexa Mini LF hands-on event
Just days ago we held a very special ARRI Alexa Mini LF hands-on event at our London headquarters, which also featured the incredible ARRI Signature Primes. Large format cinematography is new to all of us and organizing such events helps us all learn, ask ARRI representatives questions about their latest tech, and most of all get valuable hands-on experience with the camera and lenses. As an authorised ARRI camera distributor we would like to thank ARRI and all of you who attended the event and experienced the latest large format cinematography technology from ARRI. Check the link below to stay up to date with all of our upcoming events.
Visual Bytes hosted by DoP Jeremy Humphries
In closing, just a quick heads up that we are working on a new series of short instructional videos called Visual Bytes hosted by experienced DoP Jeremy Humphries. The series will focus on getting new users familiar with the key settings and features of the Sony FS7. If you just purchased an FS7 or are hiring one for your next shoot, be sure to subscribe to our channel and hit the bell icon to be notified when the new series premieres.
