Fujifilm GFX100 mirrorless camera

Fujifilm officially announced the highly anticipated GFX100 medium format mirrorless camera. The development of this camera was announced last Fall at Photokina 2018, and now Fujifilm have unveiled the full specifications, which reveal a ground-breaking new 102 megapixel backlit CMOS sensor, 5-axis in body image stabilisation and a remarkably fast hybrid autofocus system with approximately 100% coverage. Fujifilm even refer to the GFX100 as a large format camera, and the inclusion of internal 4K video recording as well as the ability to output a 10bit 4K signal over HDMI to compatible external recorders, is a sure signal that Fujifilm are serious about large format cinematography. The GFX100 is priced at approximately £10,000 and is expected to start shipping in late June.

Innovated LED lights manufacturer Fiilex have announced their new Quad Matrix LED Frame just days ahead of CineGear Expo. The Quad Frame combines four Matrix RGBW punch lights in one modular system to produce a large and very versatile light source that can be used in a variety of shooting scenarios. Compared to traditional equivalent tungsten sources The Quad Frame combines a powerful output exceeding a 4K tungsten soft light in a compact package that is easy to move around on set and transport, while drawing only 1200 watts. The Quad Frame is also compatible with various industry standard soft boxes and has built-in power and DMX cables for a more streamlined operation.
