Welcome to the latest issue of our weekly roundup of news from the TV and film industry.

This week we are featuring the new Wooden Camera QR Bridgeplates for ARRI dovetails that allow for quick and easy drop & lock style of mounting, the Blackmagic ATEM Switchers 8.2.3 update plus the RED Komodo that is now shipping in limited quantities.

Wooden Camera QR Bridgeplates

Wooden Camera has just announced a new set of Quick Release Bridgeplates for cinema camera setups. Available in either 19mm or 15mm Studio versions, the new bridgeplates are compatible with standard ARRI dovetails and allow for quick and easy drop and lock style of mounting. The new quick release bridgeplates also make it very easy for camera operators to adjust their camera rig either backwards or forwards and securely lock it to the dovetail. A safety catch is also added for additional security.

ATEM Switchers update 8.2.3

Blackmagic Design has also released a new firmware update for their ATEM switchers. The latest ATEM 8.2.3 update adds the ability for users to select up to 8 frames of audio delay on analog mic inputs of the ATEM Mini or ATEM Mini Pro. This way it is easier to maintain sync with HDMI cameras. The update also brings more stability and performance updates as well as the ability to scale to more than 100%.

RED Komodo

RED Komodo is gearing up to become one of the most anticipated professional cameras to hit the market this year. And just this past week, the very first Special Colour Editions shipped in very limited numbers to a few early adopters. Stormtrooper versions are said to follow soon, and the regular production version of the camera is estimated for August; however, this can change too depending on how quickly the company can get back to a full production schedule.
