This week we are covering the newly announced ARRI 360 EVO third generation remote head, the latest wildlife documentary shot on the Sony BURANO by 3x Academy Award winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, and latest SmallHD Ultra 7 on-camera monitor.
ARRI has just unveiled their third generation remote head called the 360 EVO. Building up on the success and design of the SRH-360, the new 360 EVO head brings full 360-degree rotation on the roll axis, giving DoPs access to more creative shots for films, commercials, live events, and music videos. The new head also brings a more compact design and compatibility with SAM plates for different cine cameras as well as various TRINITY 2 accessories, thus providing a more efficient workflow on set even when using longer zoom lenses. The 360 EVO also provides plenty of power options for cameras and a wide range of accessories, in addition to a redesigned control panel and improved user interface.
We are just a couple of weeks away from the our first Sony BURANO units landing with us and Sony has already released a new behind the scenes of a project shot by 3 time Oscar winning cinematographer Emanuel Lubetzki. El Chivo recently shot a wildlife documentary with the new Sony BURANO teaming-up with renowned conservation photographers Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen. The film was shot on both the VENICE 2 and BURANO demonstrating the incredible capability of Sony's upcoming cinema camera and its ability to be easily intercut with VENICE 2 material. The team also tested the cameras autofocus with G Master lenses and were impressed with the cameras versatility and stabilised sensor. Check out the behind the scenes via the link below and let us know your thoughts on the BURANO.
