Welcome to the latest episode of our weekly roundup of news from the TV and film industry.

This week we are featuring the new Tally System Gen. 2 and Camera Control Panel Live system for the ARRI TRINITY and ARTEMIS stabilisers, the release of major firmware updates for the Sony FX3 and FX30 plus the powerful new LED fixture from Nanlux with the Evoke 900C.

ARRI Tally System Gen.2

ARRI has expanded the accessory range for their TRINITY and ARTEMIS stabilisers with a couple of new products. The new Tally System Gen. 2 and Camera Control Panel Live have been designed to improve the live and multicam workflow of broadcast productions. The Tally System Gen.2 comes with two modules - a host module, which is mounted beneath the lens, and a client module mounted on top of the camera operator's monitor. There are three ways to trigger the system; one is via the new CCP Live when using an AMIRA, Alexa Mini, or AMIRA Live camera, another is through a dedicated cable, and a more traditional way via a photocell. The ARRI CCP Live is an updated version of the CCP-1 panel adapted for live and multicam productions with a redesigned back for a downconverted output to 1080p directly from the camera viewfinder.

FX3 and FX30 Firmware Updates

Sony has announced new firmware updates for the FX3 and FX30 cameras. Firmware versions 3.0 and 2.0 respectively, add major new features such as 4K DCI and 24p recording options to both cameras allowing them to be used as either A or B cameras on productions destined for cinema exhibitions. Other new features include in-camera Anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring options when using compatible anamorphic lenses with 1.33x and 2x squeeze factors. Both available in the camera monitor and over HDMI as well. Other improvements include changing S&Q modes via an assigned custom button on the FX3 and wireless remote control via the Sony Creators App.

Nanlux Evoke 900C

Innovative LED maker Nanlux has announced the Evoke 900C, a full colour customisable and powerful professional LED fixture. The new light utilises a state of the art RGBLAC six colour mixing system for unprecedented colour accuracy and flexibility thanks to a TLCI rating of 96+.
