ARRI accessories for VENICE
ARRI has released a new video showing how you can build-up a Sony VENICE Extension Rig. The latest Tech Talk video by ARRI demonstrates the various camera accessories ARRI has at their disposal to rig both the Sony VENICE Extension Unit 1 and 2. And the best part is that most of these accessories are already cross-compatible with the VENICE 1 and 2 cameras. Available as part of two sets of accessories namely the Basic Set or the Pro Set, the various accessories demonstrated include a base plate, side brackets, a Top Plate, and various other useful accessories. These include a Wooden Handgrip, a Cable Clamp to ensure the cable to the camera body is secure, and a Power Strip for powering other accessories made by Wooden Camera.
Ember S5K
...speaking of compact, cube shaped cameras, there is a new camera on the block called Ember S5K. The specialised super-slow camera is the first for popular professional gimbal and more recently drone makers Freefly Systems, mostly known for the original Movi gimbal from nearly a decade ago. The new camera features a 21 megapixel Super 35 image sensor with a global shutter and can reach slow-motion frame rates of up to 800 frames per second in 5K depending on the selected aspect ratio. The camera also features a native Sony E-mount, which can be adapted to PL and others, and records in Apple ProRes to a built in 4TB drive. And as with all super-slow motion cameras, you'll need plenty of light since the native ISO is only 300.
Avid Media Composer 2022.12 update
Avid has released a new update for their Media Composer. The latest 2022.12 update comes with full support for the MBOX Studio USB audio interface, offering both analog and digital I/O connections and 8 audio channels in and out for playback, capture, and punch-in. Another big feature is the ability to export a Pro Tools session directly from Media Composer along with a video sequence, cut points, and markers. The latest update also brings support for media drives mounted using UNC paths giving editors unlimited storage workspaces, an easier method for making selections in Bin Containers and also the ability to drag any assets from a column into a bin.
