Welcome to the latest episode of our weekly roundup of news from the TV and film industry.

This week we are featuring Panasonic's announcement of their new 4K studio camera, the AK-PLV100GJ and their new PTZ camera, the AW-UE160, Adobe's Premiere Pro 23.0 update which brings support for ARRIRAW and ProRes workflows plus FUJINON's new HZK 25-1000mm PL mount box lens.

DZOFILM Vespid Retro

Innovative lens maker DZOFILM just released their new Vespid Retro Cine Lens kit. Sold only as a set in either PL or EF mounts, the limited edition set includes 7 cine primes starting at 16mm on the wide end, complimented by a 25mm, a 35mm, a 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and a 125mm on the telephoto end. Designed to cover full-frame sensors, the Vespid Retro set features a lightweight silver aluminium design echoing classic designs of years past, however it inherits the reliable modern mechanical performance of the Vespid Primes with uniform ring positioning and a 270 degree focus distance. The retro look aesthetics are complimented by special coating techniques utilized the optical design expressed by the distinct amber coating and halation adding a warm and soft tint for a more subtle, classic skin tones and overall "dreamy" look.

Frame.io C2C update

Frame.io recently previewed their next evolution of the Camera 2 Cloud workflow. Now part of Adobe and fully integrated into Premiere Pro, Camera to Cloud's new In-camera Integrations with RED and Fujifilm will enable filmmakers to send internal camera video, audio, and proxy files including 8K REDCODE RAW and ProRes footage directly from the camera to the cloud without the intermediary devices. Utilizing high-speed wireless or ethernet networking RED V-Raptor and V-Raptor XL users as well as those using the latest Fujifilm X-H2S will be able send original camera files directly to post-production without even taking the memory drives out of the camera. This eliminated the need to ship physical hard drives while greatly speeding up the post-production process and adding additional security.

DaVinci Resolve for iPad

Blackmagic Design has just announced DaVinci Resolve for iPad opening a new world of collaborative and remote workflows to creatives. Available later in Q4 as a free download the new iPad-dedicated app will open and create standard DaVinci Resolve project files which are compatible with the desktop version of DaVinci Resolve 18 with H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes and Blackmagic RAW as supported file formats. Resolve for iPad has been optimized for MultiTouch technology and Apple Pencil, and will give editors and colourists access to the ground-breaking cut and color pages now optimized for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro display. According to Blackmagic Design users get up to 4 x UHD ProRes render performance improvement with the M2 chip and ability to use external monitoring via Apple Studio Display, Pro Display XDR or an AirPlay display.
