This week we are featuring the new ARRI Camera Companion App that lets you control your ALEXA 35, ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini or AMIRA from an iPhone or an iPad, the new Technovision AproXima line of anamorphic lenses from P+S Technik and Sony Ci's intergration with Teradek Serv 4k.
ARRI has just released a new Camera Companion App that lets you control your ALEXA 35, Alexa MINI LF, Alexa Mini or AMIRA from an iPhone or an iPad. The new highly customisable, and intuitive control interface makes it possible for camera assistants and camera operators to control one or multiple cameras. In addition, the app provides remote access to nearly all camera functions including recording options, playback, recording options and frame rate, ND filters and much more. The modular workspace makes it easy to adjust and rearrange the desired settings and create multiple user setups, while allowing bigger productions to create a dedicated network through a router for a multicam environment and save time on set.
P+S Technik has announced a new line of anamorphic lenses. The TECHNOVISION 1.5x AproXima series are close focus anamorphic lenses that cover the latest generation large format sensors and offer interchangeable PL and LPL mount options. Currently, the AproXima anamorphics include 4 lenses - a 40mm , a 50mm, a 75mm, and a 100mm. Hinted in the name, the new range offers a much better close focusing capabilities of around 1 foot compared to the standard Technovision 1.5x range. The maximum aperture on the 40mm and 50mm lenses is T2.2, while the front anamorphic element design contributes to the lenses' strong character exhibited by high contrast and intentional flares.
Sony also announced recently they will be natively integrating the Teradek Serv 4K and the Teradek Prism Flex with Sony's Ci Cloud to further accelerate and secure the camera-to-cloud workflow for broadcasters and filmmakers. This way they will have the ability to effortlessly review, edit, and deliver proxy files in a matter of minutes. Production companies and broadcasters can accelerate their content acquisition workflows while still delivering frame-accurate files for cutting, color grading, commenting, and annotating. According to Teradek their integration with the Sony Ci Media Cloud is planned for later in the Fall.
