ALEXA 35 SUP 1.0.3
ARRI has released a new firmware update for their latest ALEXA 35 camera. The latest SUP 1.0.3 Revision 4 may not offer new features, however it is important that camera operators update their cameras to the latest firmware as Revision 4 contains important bug fixes and makes the whole camera more stable. As always, ARRI does not recommend you update the firmware, if you are in the middle of a production. And speaking of the ALEXA 35, we are running a week long 'Bring Your Own Lenses and try out the ALEXA 35' event starting next week on Monday 22nd of August at our Teddington location with slots throughout the day. Meike 135mm cine prime
Budget cine lens maker Meike has released their long-anticipated 135mm cine prime thus completing their 7 piece lineup. The telephoto lens has a fast maximum aperture of T2.4 and offers full-frame sensor coverage thanks to its 45mm image circle. The optical design includes 12 elements arranged in 8 groups, while the 17 blade aperture design ensures a pleasing round bokeh. In addition, the 135mm lens offers a robust build quality and lightweight design and will be available in a variety of lens mounts. These include PL, Canon EF, RF, L mount and Sony E making it perfect for cameras such as the FX9, Sony VENICE, Canon C500 Mark II, Alexa Mini LF and many others.
Sound Devices A20-RX
Premiere audio maker Sound Devices has unveiled their new A20-RX, two-channel, true diversity receiver with industry-exclusive SpectraBand technology. Compatible with both the A20-RX and the A20 Mini transmitter, SpectraBand offers and unprecedented tuning range from 470 MHz to 1525 MHz. This technology eliminates the need for purchasing different wireless receivers dedicated to specific frequency bands allowing for true worldwide operation. In addition the A20-RX uses superior low-loss, built-in filters to deliver excellent performance in noisy RF environments, while the AutoAssign feature scans a user-designated tuning band and selects clean frequencies for both channels for the receiver.
