DaVinci Resolve 18 & Blackmagic Cloud Store
Blackmagic Design just unveiled the new DaVinci Resolve 18 update as well as new products for cloud-based post-production workflows. The new Blackmagic Cloud Store is a high-performance network storage solution with an elegant vertical design and 4x 10G Ethernet connections. Designed for use in post-production houses and studios, it utilizes the high-speed and reliability of the latest generation M.2 flash memory cards to give editors and colourists instant access to tens of terabytes of RAW footage, while the more budget oriented Cloud Store Mini version comes in a rack-mounted design ideal for smaller teams and productions. The new DaVinci Resolve 18 public beta update adds support for Blackmagic Cloud workflows and the DaVinci Proxy Generator app. In addition, the latest update brings a new surface tracker to add effects to flexible moving surfaces, a 3D depth map for separating backgrounds and isolating objects, and ultra beauty mode.
SmallHD Cine 18
SmallHD has added a new 18-inch 4K production monitor to their already impressive lineup. The new SmallHD CINE 18 is a high-bright, portable, and colour accurate 4K production monitor that is ideal for a DoP/AC monitor or video village. The monitor offers 100% Rec.709 coverage and features multiple 12G SDI inputs for workflows up to 4K resolution. In addition, the Cine 18 delivers 1100 nits brightness for daylight viewing, while the lightweight aluminium unibody design makes it mobile and versatile enough to be used just about anywhere on set.
Aputure LS 600d
Aputure has added a new LS 600d to its single source LED arsenal. The innovative lighting manufacturer introduces the new 600d as a more affordable alternative to their popular 600d Pro light. Built predominantly for indoor studio use, the new Aputure 600d does not have the water resistant design or the more advanced control options such as Lumen Radio and Art-net, however it retains the same high output and LED array from the 600d Pro. In addition, the 600d offers multiple control methods including DMX and bluetooth via the Sidus Link app as well as a redesigned, lighter control box, 4 dimming curves, and 8 built-in special effects.
