This week we are featuring ARRI's announcement of their next generation camera stabilizer systems - the TRINITY 2 and ARTEMIS 2. Zeiss's addition of an ultra-wide lens to their Supreme line of cine lenses and new accessories for the Sony VENICE 2 from Vocas.
ARRI TRINITY 2 & ARTEMIS 2
ARRI has announced their next generation camera stabilizer systems - the TRINITY 2 and ARTEMIS 2. Featuring a re-designed modular approach, the new stabilizers share 80% of all new components giving operators a quick and easy upgrade path from the mechanical Artemis 2 to the more hybrid Trinity 2. The re-designed top stage allows for more compatibility with precision engineered SAM plates for different cameras, while the new Super and Short posts allow for expanded versatility for more extreme angles or space constrained locations. The new sled design offers an innovative battery hanger with intelligent high-capacity regulated output in addition to a new interchangeable battery mount system with a choice of B-mount, Gold-mount, and V-mount brackets. The new monitor bracket offers compatibility with certain SmallHD monitors, while the new RCP-3 remote control panel for the Trinity 2 offers an easy and intuitive way to configure the stabilizer.
Zeiss ultra-wide Supreme 15mm T1.8
Zeiss has announced a new ultra wide-angle addition to the Zeiss Supremes cine primes. The new Supreme 15mm T1.8 completes the full-frame range, which now consists of a total of 14 lenses covering a huge range of focal lengths from 15mm to 200mm. With a large image circle of 46.3mm the Zeiss Supreme 15mm covers the latest large format digital sensors on cine cameras such as the ARRI Alexa Mini LF and Sony VENICE and VENICE 2. The wide-angle lens also offers an interchangeable PL and LPL mount, a very fast maximum aperture of T1.8, and a close focus distance of only 35cm. As with the rest of the Supreme primes, the new 15mm also shares an internal focus design, impeccable image quality and minimal lens breathing as well as support for the latest eXtended Data technology.
Vocas accessories for VENICE 2
Acclaimed camera accessories maker Vocas has announced a new line of accessories designed for the Sony VENICE 2. The lineup includes a VENICE Top Plate with an integrated level marker to help camera operators adjust the horizon as well as multiple industry-standard 3/8ths and 1/4-20 threaded holes for mounting various accessories. The Top Kit Plate for VENICE also comes with a 15mm rail holder for mounting a viewfinder for example, while the new VENICE 2 Side Plate fits perfectly on the camera assistants side offering additional mounting points for audio or wireless video receivers. The Vocas Universal Base Plate kit with a soft shoulder pad as well as the 19mm height-adjustable version is also compatible with the VENICE 2.
