DZOFILM Catta Ace
Innovative cine lens maker DZOFilm has introduced their new CATTA ACE cine zooms for full-frame cameras. A few months ago the company disrupted the cine lens market by launching their affordable CATTA full-frame zooms, which were only available in white and with a Sony E native mount. However, the new CATTA ACE zooms, which feature the same focal lengths of 35-80mm and 70-135mm at T2.9, are now available in the more traditional black colour and also PL and EF mount, giving cinematographers a huge range of cameras to use them on. Lightweight and compact for their class, the Catta Ace zooms offer a fast aperture, a 16 blade iris for soft bokeh, and a 240 degree focus rotation. In addition, DZOFilm is also working on an LPL mount version for ARRI Alexa MINI LF users to be released in the near future.
Lumix GH6
Panasonic has finally unveiled the brand new and long-awaited GH6 camera. Five years after the GH5, the new Panasonic GH6 is set to once again revolutionize the Micro Four Thirds segment with impressive video features including built-in V-Log profile and internal ProRes recording. The new GH6 is equipped with a brand new 25.2 megapixel sensor paired with a new and faster Venus processing engine for faster readout speeds and frame rates. The GH6 packs some serious horsepower under the hood including multiple 4K 10bit 4:2:2 recording options up to 60 frames per second, a 4K/120 frames per second slow motion in 10bit 4:2:0 as well as the ability to record in anamorphic aspect ratios. Panasonic is also planning to add new features with future firmware updates such as director to SSD recording via USB and 4K raw recording over HDMI.
HYPERDOLLY
HyperDolly is a new and unique motorized dolly system designed to unburden filmmakers from the traditional way of capturing hyperlapses and other creative shots. The HyperDolly combines a compact, foldable design with an intuitive interface, freeing up your creativity and taking your production values to the next level. Unlike traditional sliders, the HyperDolly creates an arc-like motion that is unobstructed by track length giving cinematographers the ability to create stunning shots in car and product commercials. Powered by an easily available Sony NP-F style battery the HyperDolly features a built-in intervalometer, manual mode for even more versatility and a loop mode for capturing interviews.
