Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III firmware updates
Canon has just announced some exciting firmware updates coming soon to the C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III cameras. Due for release in July, the new updates give users the ability to limit the 12G-SDI output to 2K or Full HD resolutions when recording in 4K or above. This ensures compatibility with various 3G-SDI monitoring and wireless devices. Other improvements include remote control via Canon's XC Protocol, simultaneous signal output via SDI and HDMI and a new 1.8x squeeze Anamorphic monitoring option. The Canon C500 Mark II is also getting new 4:3 and 6:5 anamorphic recording modes.

Anton Bauer has released a new power accessory for the Sony FX6. The company's new Micro Battery Slide Pro plate allows camera operators to power their FX6 with the compact Titon Micro or full size V mount or Gold mount batteries. The plate features a quick-hinge mechanism, which gives users access to the internal battery for hot-swapping during shooting, ensuring continuous power to the camera. The Battery Slide Pro plate steps up the output of a 14.4V battery to the required 19.5V DC, delivered to the camera via the DC-In port. In addition the plate also features multiple 1/4-20 threaded holes and 2 integrated D-Tap ports to power additional accessories.
