Blackmagic Design

Blackmagic Design have released a new firmware update for the URSA Mini Pro and a major update to DaVinci Resolve 15. Camera Update 6.0 expands the maximum ISO on the URSA Mini Pro to ISO 3200, which is much needed for low-light situations. Other new features include 2:1 monitoring frame guides and HDR metadata support via SDI, while the URSA Viewfinder gets updated with the latest 4th generation colour science and 4.6K Film to Extended Video LUT for monitoring. DaVinci Resolve 15.2 on the other hand is a major update with over 30 new features and improvements including a completely redesigned keyboard customization interface and significantly improved edit timeline, among many others.

ARRI LF SUP 4.0

ARRI have also released a new firmware update or in other words LF SUP 4.0 for the ALEXA LF camera. New features include anamorphic de-squeeze factors for Panavision and Cooke Full Frame Anamorphic primes, advanced features such as improved dynamic defect pixel correction, and also LBUS support for compatibility with ARRI LBUS accessories including master grips, OCU-1 and cforce mini motors.

Cooke 35-140mm Anamorphic Special Flare Lens

Cooke Optics just announced a new lens addition to their Anamorphic/i SF or Special Flare range of cine lenses. The new Cooke 35-140mm Anamorphic Special Flare zoom lens will complement the already existing special flare anamorphic primes and will feature a specially developed coating that adds even more flare, in addition to the oval bokeh and other characteristics associated with the anamorphic look. The new Special Flare zoom lens is identical in every other aspect to the standard 35mm-140mm Anamorphic zoom, and is now available to order.
