ZEISS launch a new addition to their Milvus series with ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35 camera lens for full-frame DSLR cameras. The tenth addition to the Milvus family, the ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35 is ideal for portrait photography with DSLRs such as Canon and Nikon.
Christophe Casenave, Product Manager at ZEISS says "The high maximum aperture enables the subject to stand out clearly against the background, and the photographer can achieve creative combinations of focus and blur."
ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35ZEISS has given the lens a completely new optical design with aspherical lens elements, special glass materials and advanced correction. Thanks to their excellent edge-to-edge imagery the ZEISS Milvus lenses are designed for high-performance digital cameras. “This means the photos are practically free from chromatic aberrations," says Casenave Designed to be used with “mirror-ed” high megapixel, full-frame DSLR’s such as the Canon 5DSR and Nikon D810 and will also be available in Canon EF and Nikon mounts. With the use of appropriate adapters available for Canon and Nikon mount lenses,  the ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35  will also be able to  work with mirrorless full-frame cameras such as the Sony A7R II, A7sII etc. Like all lenses in the ZEISS Milvus family, the 35mm focal length lens is protected against dust and water spray and, according to Casenave, can be used even in poor weather conditions. The metal barrel gives the lens its robust and durable character. All ten lenses in the ZEISS Milvus range are also suitable for film productions. The manual focus with a large rotation angle can be operated with the aid of a ZEISS Lens Gear with a follow-focus system. The de-click function allows the aperture to be set continuously in the version for Nikon3 cameras. ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35 A further benefit for filming is the fact that ZEISS has matched the colour characteristics of the ten lenses. Filmmakers can therefore switch between the focal lengths and still have a uniform colour look. "Reducing the amount of time spent in post-production," says Casenave. The ZEISS Milvus 1.4/35 lens will be available from July 2017. You can find further information at zeiss.com
