At NAB 2016, SmallHD announced their brand new range of 17, 24, and 32-inch HDR production monitors, and now the monitor manufacturer announce 2 new Full HD Studio Production monitors with 17 and 24-inches screen sizes designed to provide the same level of durability, high-end software capability, and colour accuracy as their HDR counterparts.
“Daylight viewability is an incredibly convenient feature of our large HDR displays, but for those shooting in controlled lighting environments, the new 1703 and 2403 ‘Studio’ are perfect for the video village and ACs,” says Wes Phillips, SmallHD Co-Founder. “They feature the exact same build quality and software feature set, but don’t carry the same price tag of high brightness HDR displays.”
Apart from being less bright, the new Studio production monitors share the rest of the amazing SmallHD features from their HDR line-up, announced at NAB 2016. For our coverage of NAB 2016 and the Production Monitors from SmallHD head over here.
The new Studio Monitors feature the SmallHD “Pages” system of software presets that makes it possible for any professional to adapt their needs and speed up workflow with faster access to critical tools, improving on-the-fly focus, colour and lighting decisions. The new Multi-View page provides simultaneous viewing of all 3 inputs, or multiple views of the same input with a different feature and/or LUT applied applied to each view. Each customizable page is just a single button press away.
Another awesome feature of the SmallHD Studio monitors is the built-in ColorFlow technology, which enables users to use their custom 3D LUTs in a to do a custom display calibration, or preview in real-time the final look intended for post-production , and the ability to embed LUTs in the video stream for display on monitors downstream.
Just like the HDR Production monitors, the Studio monitors are milled from a billet aluminum and feature a 3mm thick polycarbonate screen protector that is user-replaceable, giving the monitors extreme robustness thus enabling them to last for a very long time.
The RapidRail Shoe Mount System enables quick mounting and powering of third party accessories, making wireless setups particularly easy.
