Action camera leader, GoPro in a surprised move just announced a brand new camera - called the Hero4 Session. The latest GoPro is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than GoPro’s best-selling HERO4 Black and Silver cameras; the HERO4 Session packs GoPro’s Emmy Award-winning image quality and performance into an exciting new low-profile form factor. HERO4 Session benefits from a durable waterproof design that eliminates the need for a separate housing and features simple one-button control to make capturing immersive photos and video quicker and more convenient than ever before. Hero4Session_Cluster_12.jpg_10667149_featureimage   Apart from the obvious design change, which is a first for any GoPro camera, the Hero4 Session features 1080p/60 recording, in addition to slow-motion up to 100fps at 720p HD resolution. 8 megapixel stills capture in burst or single mode, in addition to timelapse mode is also available. The Hero4 Session also features the Protune mode from the rest of the Hero4 lineup. The new easy one button operation can save time and frustration from the usual dual button control on other GoPro's. The Hero4 Session features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is compatible with the Smart remote and GoPro's iOS/Android app. HERO4 Session is compatible with existing GoPro mounts and will retail for $399.99 / £329.99 / Euro 429.99 MSRP at authorized GoPro retailers around the world beginning July 12, 2015. The new streamlined cubic design of the Hero4 Session makes it easily mountable to just about any surface, so camera professionals out there will have one more tool in their bag to grab that special extra action POV shot. Whether the new design is a sign of what's to come from GoPro in the near future is yet to be seen, but I am guessing that this is just the first step for them into a whole new line-up of cameras and it wont be long before we see more powerful models like a 4K Black edition maybe.
