Convergent Design Release Major Firmware Update v2016.10 with Titan HD Extract, Varicam LT Raw Support and More
The latest firmware release v2016.10 from Convergent Design is a pretty big deal for Apollo and Odyssey7Q+ users. Announced just yesterday, firmware v2016.10 enables support for the new Titan HD Extract option, Varicam LT Raw support is also added to Odyssey Raw Bundle, ARRIRAW 4:3 is also supported, and finally ProRes proxy makes an appearance too.
Convergent Design have prepared a very useful tutorial for those interested in getting the Titan HD Extract option:
The Titan HD Extract upgrade option for Odyssey7Q and 7Q+ in addition to the multi-camera switcher/recorder Apollo is a very neat feature, which uses one 4K camera to create three separate HD video signals. The way it is quite clever - one frame is a Supersample of the full image area and two are windows selected from within the original input. These windows can be panned smoothly through the 4K field and the three angles can be Live-Switched. All four HD signals can be recorded simultaneously in Apple ProRes with matching timecode and filenames.
Titan HD Extract is available now as an upgrade option for Apollo, Odyssey7Q/7Q+.
The October Introductory Price is $995 ($300 savings). Sale ends November, 6th so you might want to jump on the Titan train now before the promotion ends. Head over to Convergent Design to buy the Titan option.
