  1. AJA Releases First Firmware Update for the CION Camera

    The AJA CION was announced at last years NAB trade show in Las Vegas and easily became of the hottest new products at the show. Many attendees and industry folk were surprised to see AJA bringing out their first camera, sort of following the foot steps of competitor Blackmagic Design, who did the same a few years back with their first camera. The 4K CION is a fully capable production camera sporting a Super 35 4K sensor, internal 4K recording in various ProRes flavours, slow motion capabilities, as well as an option for 4K Raw via 3G-SDI out to an external recorder.

  3. Canon Introduces 50 Megapixel DSLR's for High End Photography

    Just earlier last week, Canon introduced the next level of their EOS DSLR line-up with not just one, but two new models – the EOS 5Ds and EOS 5DsR. Aimed at high-end photography predominantly in the portraiture, architecture and landscape segment, the new EOS 5Ds and 5DsR are gunning for the ultimate resolution and image quality required for printing large spreads and for situations where sharpness and detail rendition are critical.

  4. New Batteries and Power Accessories for the Sony FS7 From Hawk-Woods

    The VL-FS7 is a direct V-Lok fitting for Sony's FS7 camera allowing the user to use high powered V-Lok batteries rather than BPU batteries which are the standard battery for the FS7 camera. The adaptor attaches via the lock in mechanism in the FS7's battery compartment and then finally screwed to the top of the camera body to secure in place.

  5. The ARRI Anamorphic Look: Interview with DP Bradford Young

    Talented DP Bradford Young, known for lensing incredible films such as Aint Them Bodies Saints, and Pariah, recently shot his latest thriller set in New York in the winter of 1981 entitled “A Most Violent Year”. Directed by J.C. Chandor, for the shoot, they decided to go with the ultimate image quality when it comes to digital cinema and the anamorphic look - ALEXA XT Studio, XT Plus and XT M cameras, as well as the marvellous ARRI/ZEISS Master Anamorphic lenses.
