It has been a very busy week and a busy month for ARRI. A month ago at BVE 2015 we had the chance to see their “miniaturized” ALEXA Mini (very appropriately named) and just after announcing a new ALEXA SXT camera line-up earlier last week, ARRI have come around and announced a new lens flare sets for their Master Anamorphic series of lenses. Hollywood titans JJ Abrams and Paul Thomas Anderson, a proven anamorphic aficionados, will be particularly excited to hear about these new lens flare sets from ARRI.
The team at AJA recently released their some really helpful tips on how to get started wth their brand new camera – the 4K capable AJA Cion. The camera was announced at last year's NAB, and started shipping at year end. AJA have put in a great deal of hard work into the camera and it shows – the beautiful ergonomic design is matched by a powerhouse of internal features ranging from 4K to 2K and HD acquisition in broadcast popular Apple ProRes format.
Hot off the Press: ARRI is expanding the ALEXA family once again and launching a new Alexa SXT (Super Xtended Technology) digital cinema camera featuring in-camera ProRes 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) and ProRes True 4K Cine (4096 x 2637 pixels) recording.
With NAB 2015 less than four weeks away, the industry is buzzing with rumours about possible show announcements. The largest professional video industry trade show will once again be host to close to over 90,000 industry folk from all corners of the globe eager to get their hands on the latest and greatest professional video equipment on display in Las Vegas.
