Renowned monitor manufacturer SmallHD just added a couple of affordable 7-inch monitors to their 700 series monitor line-up. The new 701 Lite and 702 Lite monitors are the perfect tools for DSLR operators and those DoP's using Super 35 cameras with LOG gamma.

Sony just announced that their CineAlta F5 and F55 professional 4K camcorders will be getting a significant upgrade soon enabling Cache recording in RAW up to 30 seconds in 24 fps with the help of an optional accessory. The details around this optional accessory are not yet known.

Earlier today, Convergent Design announced their flagship Odyssey7Q+ 4K RAW Recorder will support the Raw output on the new Panasonic Varicam LT. This is great news for cinematographers and productions requiring the highest level of digital cinema imagery for VFX and heavy colour grading work. The Varicam LT Raw will be included in the Odyssey7Q+ Raw bundle available to purchase directly from Convergent Design. Announced earlier today at ISE 2016, RovoCam is AJA’s first compact block camera for industrial, corporate, security, ProAV and broadcast applications and quite the departure from the company's first camera - the AJA Cion - which targeted filmmakers and video producers with a Super 35 sensor and UHD ProRes recording on board. RovoCam’s HDBaseT interface supports control of 4K/UltraHD video, power, audio and RS-232 over a single Cat 5e/6 cable.

Blackmagic Design just released firmware 1.2 for their 5-inch Video Assist monitor/recorder adding some very useful new features such as Avid DNxHD codec support, HDMI start/stop recording trigger, timecode support for the venerable Canon 5D Mark III, extended Zebras and a lot more.
