Canon have just released details of their new
EOS C700 FF camera.
This is Canon’s first entry into the world of Sony VENICE and ARRI’s ALEXA LF territory and is ostensibly a full-frame version of Canon’s C700 camera.
The C700 FF, captures images up to 5.9K resolution and has a newly developed 38.1 mm x 20.1mm 20.8MP CMOS sensor. This gives the camera a greater tonal range with over 15 stops of dynamic range plus improved low light performance and depth of field. Available with a PL or EF mount the camera records either Canon XF-AVC or Apple ProRes in 4K or 2K onto CFast cards. As for frame rates they are up to 168fps in the 2K mode.
