The Canon C700 lens mount details where revealed recently by Canon. The service allows customers to go from EF with Cinema Lock to PL mount or vice versa. The Canon C700 is also Canon's first camera allowing users to change the sensor to a Global Shutter enabled one in the future. However, it is worth noting that when the sensor is changed from an electronic shutter one to a global shutter one, the camera loses the ability to use autofocus. Canon EOS C700 Highlights

Canon C700 Lens Mount Replacement Service As mentioned before, future C700 owners can go from EF mount a PL mount (with Cook/i support), or perform the reverse - go from a PL mount (with Cook/i support) to be changed to an EF mount with Cinema Lock (enabling the autofocus capability on the standard sensor camera). In order to do so, customers will have to send their EOS C700 to a Canon Regional Competence Centre (RCC), either directly or via a local Canon Authorised Service Facility (ASF), in order to perform the Lens Mount Replacement Service. Alternatively, customers will also be able to purchase a PL mount (with Cook/i support) and/or SHIM kit directly for self-installation. The Canon RCCs are located in Germany, France, Italy, Sweden and the UK. The following three types of services are available to customers sending in their C700's to a Canon RCC: Mount Replacement Service: Cost - £380 + VAT This is for users who chose to purchase their own PL mount (with Cook/i support) directly, or would like to revert the camera back to the original mount from a previous mount change. Mount Replacement Service & Mount: Cost - £1175 + VAT If you would like Canon to do it all for you - all you have to do is send the camera to a your local RCC.
