Blackmagic Camera Update 4.2 is the latest firmware for the popular Blackmagic Design
URSA Mini 4.6K camera, which now includes black shading calibration. In addition, the Blackmagic Video Assist and
Video Assist 4K get firmware 2.3.1, which functionality with the 3D LUT interface.

The
Video Assist Firmware 2.3.1 allows the false colour exposure tools to operate exclusive of 3D LUTs, so users can accurately check exposure, even if a LUT has been applied.
Stability improvements to lower bit rate DNxHD 45 and ProRes Proxy files has been added in this firmware, as well as some bug fixes such as an issue where black would be displayed if an empty LUT was selected
The URSA Mini 4.6K has been quite popular with budget oriented productions, who would like to benefit from shooting in compressed Raw in high resolutions. The Video Assist 5-inch offers a very affordable monitoring (and recording solution) for those who normally use smaller DSLR like form-factor cameras like the Sony A7s II for example.
The
Video Assist allows recording in popular compressed broadcast codecs like Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD. The 5-inch Video Assist is limited to Full HD recording, however the 4K version adds a bigger 7-inch monitor and UHD recording capability for cameras, which can output such resolution.
