URSA Mini 4.6K users experiencing lens shading issues - also known as the "Magenta Issue" - may no longer have to put up with this because of the new Blackmagic Camera Setup 3.3 update. Some users have experienced difficult in getting the best from their URSA Mini 4.6K cameras due to heavy magenta corners when working with certain f-stops. The issue which has been well documented by user reports and on Blackmagic Design's forum may finally come to an end, giving users the chance to fully get the best from this impressive camera. The Blackmagic Camera Setup 3.3 which was released early June 15th is a software package that allows users to update their Blackmagic camera to the latest software release for bug fixes, new features and other enhancements. Blackmagic announced that the software installer no longer installs the Desktop Video or UltraScope applications; these can be downloaded separately from the Blackmagic Design website here. To make sure that the update works successfully, users have been advised to make sure their cameras are plugged into the mains power before running the software update. Before installing Blackmagic Camera Utility, it is recommended that you run "Uninstall Camera Setup" first. Then you can proceed to loading the software on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera EF or MFT. There may be a slight flickering on the built-in LCD screen. This is normal behaviour. The flickering will go away after a few minutes of operation.
