Sony has today announced the HXR‐NX100, the latest addition to its NXCAM range of professional camcorders with high technology and cost performance. Sony has combined stunning picture quality, easy operability and a wide selection of recording formats into a device that supports multiple choices for a range of professional applications, from events to documentaries.

Sony continue to improve and enhance their PMW-F5/F55 cameras by adding feature rich firmware updates, this time around in the latest firmware update version 6.0 implementing ProRes HD 4444 with the optional CBK-55PD installed, among other features.

Earlier today, Blackmagic Design released their latest firmware update 2.4, which mostly affects the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K, by adding frame guides (already present on the Cinema camera and Pocket) in addition to an update install camera utility, and the much awaited Dashboard bypass.

Recently, Zeiss announced a new addition, or rather expansion to their line-up of lenses called BATIS. The new family currently comprises of 2 focal lengths - 25mm f2.0 and 85mm f/1.8. The Batis line, features a very slick design and immaculate construction reminiscent of the Touit line-up with fine metal finish and slick focus barrel.

Recently, Austrian filmmaker Adi Geisegger, took the Alexa Mini and shot "The Focus" - a short piece demonstrating boundless possibilities for floor exercise performances as an athlete tries to explain by his moves what's going on his mind before a competition.
