ARRI had their full camera line-up on display at IBC 2015 in Amsterdam including the 65mm digital cinema top dog ALEXA 65, the latest ALEXA Mini and upcoming ALEX A SXT cameras as well as the documentary oriented ARRI AMIRA. In the upcoming SUP 3.0 for the AMIRA, the camera will receive some really exciting new features including 4K UHD recording, MPEG2 HD 422 at 50Mb/s recording for full integration with broadcast workflows, in addition to Wi-Fi control from smart phones and tables.
In its largest-ever simultaneous product release RØDE has announced six new products at IBC 2015 in Amsterdam. This was a massive event for Rode and the Australian manufacturer added two new microphones, a pair of carbon fibre boompoles, an XLR interface for Apple iOS® devices and an XLR adaptor for the company’s popular RØDELink 2.4GHz digital wireless system to their line-up of products.
Just this past Friday at the start of IBC 2015, Sony announced their latest addition to the large sensor XDCAM range - the PXW-FS5. Featuring a similar, ergonomic and compact design we've seen from the FS7, the FS5 is slimmer and smaller, but still has a lot of horsepower under the hood. So, with that said, let's see how it stacks against other cameras from Sony and competing brands, at least on paper.
