  3. Sony FS5 Now With Better Picture Quality with Firmware Version 1.11

    Sony recently released a new firmware update for their latest Super 35 XDCAM 4K camera - the PXW-FS5. The baby brother to the FS7 has been extremely popular with small production companies and freelancers doing a variety of work including, but not limited to events, weddings, documentaries and corporate gigs, but there have been reports from various users about some compression artifacts when shooting in Slog3 in high ISO's. Luckily Sony just issued a firmware update version 1.11 which addresses those issues.

  4. Sony Announce New AXS-R7 Raw Recorder for PMW-F55/F5 CineAlta Cameras

    Sony continues its commitment to the CineAlta camera range by announcing a new, faster 4K Raw recorder - AXS-R7 for the F55/F5 cameras. The new raw recorder is capable of 4K RAW Recording at 120 frames per second as well as Cache Raw Recording, which documentary and wildlife productions will love. There are also new AXS media cards for the new recorder, and Sony also announced details for the next Firmware Version 8.0 for the F5/F55 cameras.

    Sony just announced a brand new 4K camcorder - the PXW-Z150 XDCAM features a brand new 20 megapixel Exmor RS stacked 1-inch sensor, 4K UHD up to 30 frames per second in the XAVC-L codec, a 12x Optical Zoom lens expandable to 18x in 4K and 24x in FHD thanks to Sony's proprietary Clear Image Zoom technology, and the blazing fast 120fps Super Slow Motion in HD.
