Atomos release Shogun Inferno firmware 8.2 featuring CinemaDNG recording supported on Sony FS,
Canon C300 MK II / C500 and Panasonic Varicam LT cameras. Last week, Atomos announced an upgraded budget
4K/60 HDMI Ninja Inferno HDMI Recorder.
Atomos pushed back early release of the update due to problems found in testing with Sony FS higher frame rate CDNG. It was then available up to 2K 30p with promise on developing to 2K 50/60/100/120p for Sony FS. After a short wait, the
Shogun Inferno update is available today for supported Sony FS cameras and more.
Up to 2K/120p recording is now made available on the Shogun Inferno for Sony
PXW-FS5 /
PXW-FS7 and
NEX-FS700.
To upgrade to Shogun Inferno firmware 8.2, Inferno users can access the CinemaDNG RAW format
directly from Atomos. Open the Record Format page and select CinemaDNG from the codec options and press OK.
What frame rates/resolutions do you get in the new firmware update - depending on supported cameras.
