ARRI is responding to customer demand for higher resolutions by upgrading the already incredible brand new documentary style Amira camera with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) ProRes option up to 60fps in-camera recording on CFast 2.0 cards.
4K acquisition requirements for productions is growing and ARRI are responding by allowing AMIRA shooters to future-proof their content and ensure the viability and longevity of their footage.
Amira Features:
- - Same 35 mm sensor as ALEXA
- - D 1080/2K; Log C/Rec 709
- - ProRes up to 4444 on CFast 2.0 cards
- - Dynamic range of 14+ stops

ARRI tells us the 4K upgrade is a software update, and not a sensor upgrade, and will include UHD capture in all ProRes flavours (4444, 422 HQ, 422, LT) and will be available to purchase online for the ARRI License Shop.
The update is scheduled to be available by the end of 2014.
